We are working in partnership with Hannah Simnett at Connection Counts. Hannah was the founder of the award-winning charity Cherished, which has provided attachment-focused and trauma-responsive support for children and young people across primary and secondary schools in Birmingham. Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, seen, soothed, and secure, principles that align closely with our own values at Fosse Children’s Services.
This partnership is more than just training, it is a collaborative effort to embed trauma-informed care into the very foundations of our homes. Together, we are developing a bespoke training and mentoring programme tailored to the needs of our teams and the children we support. This includes not only building staff confidence in managing behaviours through an understanding of trauma, but also equipping them to offer consistent, compassionate, and reflective care.
Through this partnership, we aim to build a culture of emotional safety and trust, where staff, children, and families feel connected and empowered, creating the conditions for young people to heal, thrive, and flourish.
