Support Service: 24/7 core staff on site, with additional 1:1 support depending on the needs of the individual.
The scheme has a service manager on site Monday to Friday, supported by senior staff to ensure the smooth running of the service. Each individual has their own 1-1 hours commissioned by Leicestershire County Council, alongside shared access to the on-site 'core' team, available 24 hours a day. The core team consists of two day staff and two night staff, with additional staff delivering 1-1 support where commissioned.

Independent Living Spaces
Hawthorne House offers 14 fully self-contained flats, each thoughtfully refurbished and equipped with a private bathroom, kitchen, living space, and bedroom. These modern spaces promote comfort, independence, and a homely atmosphere for every resident.
24/7 On-Site Support
Our dedicated support team is available around the clock, with two staff on duty during the day and two overnight. Additional staff provide commissioned 1:1 support, ensuring flexible and responsive care tailored to each individual's needs.
Empowering Core & Cluster Model
Hawthorne House follows a core and cluster approach. The main building supports individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and physical health needs, while four separate rear apartments accommodate individuals with mental health needs. This arrangement allows for greater privacy and autonomy while maintaining access to 24/7 support.
Positive Behaviour Support Approach
All staff are trained in Positive Behaviour Support, delivering outcome-focused, person-centred care. This approach helps residents build confidence, improve well-being, and work towards their individual goals in a supportive environment.
Mental Health Recovery Focus
Our team is actively implementing the Recovery Star model to support those with mental health needs on their personal recovery journey - helping individuals build resilience, independence, and a sense of hope for the future.
Community and Connection
Communal spaces provide opportunities for residents to come together, fostering social connection, friendship, and a sense of belonging within a welcoming and inclusive community.
On-Site Leadership and Coordination
The service is led by an experienced Service Manager available Monday to Friday, supported by senior staff who oversee the day-to-day running of the home and ensure high-quality care is consistently delivered.
Integrated Housing Partnership
In partnership with Westmoreland Housing, a trusted Registered Housing Provider, Hawthorne House ensures residents receive expert tenancy-related support. This separation of care and housing needs aligns with CQC best practice guidance.
Commissioned Personalised Support
Each resident has personalised 1:1 support hours commissioned by Leicestershire County Council, along with shared access to the on-site core support team. This ensures each individual receives the right level of support at the right time.
Admission Process:
Admission to Hawthorne House includes a comprehensive assessment process to understand each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals. We work closely with referring agencies, health professionals, and family members to create a smooth transition and personalised support plan.
